Mapxus recently participated in the Sino Innovation Tech Experience Day, an initiative under the Strive and Rise Programme hosted by Sino Group, with youth participants led by Po Leung Kuk.
Held at The Spark by Sino Inno Lab at One North, the event introduced students to real-world applications of innovation and technology beyond the classroom. As part of the experience, Mapxus participated in and supported the interactive “Inno Hunt” challenge, powered by Mapxus Stamp Rally, our indoor location-based engagement feature.

During the challenge, students used Mapxus’ Wi-Fi-based indoor positioning technology to navigate the venue, search for designated checkpoints, locate hidden QR codes, and collect virtual stamps within a set time limit. By selecting destinations and previewing wayfinding routes, participants were able to explore the space independently while completing different activity missions along the way.

The experience turned the venue into an interactive learning environment, allowing students to see how indoor positioning technology can be applied in everyday spaces. Rather than learning about smart space technology only through presentations or classroom discussion, participants experienced how digital maps, real-time indoor positioning, and wayfinding can support movement, discovery, and engagement inside complex indoor environments.
For Mapxus, the activity also highlighted how spatial intelligence can make indoor experiences more intuitive and engaging. With Mapxus Stamp Rally, physical venues can be transformed into digital journeys where visitors are guided to specific touchpoints, encouraged to explore different areas, and rewarded through interactive participation.

Beyond the student experience, the Inno Hunt challenge demonstrated how indoor location-based technology can support property operators and venue owners in creating more engaging visitor journeys. Similar experiences can be applied across commercial buildings, shopping malls, campuses, exhibitions, public venues, and other indoor spaces to guide foot traffic, encourage exploration, and connect physical environments with digital content.
Powered by existing Wi-Fi infrastructure, Mapxus’ indoor positioning technology enables venue-based engagement without requiring complex additional hardware installation. This makes it possible for operators to introduce interactive digital experiences in a practical and scalable way, while enhancing how visitors navigate and interact with their spaces.
Technology education does not always happen in classrooms. Sometimes, the most meaningful way to inspire young people is to let them experience technology in the spaces they interact with every day. Through the Inno Hunt challenge, students were able to engage with indoor positioning technology firsthand and imagine how innovation can shape the future of smart buildings, visitor experiences, and connected communities.
