A new joint pilot at Haneda Innovation City is testing how indoor navigation and mobile charging infrastructure can be combined in a single installation.
INFORICH, the operator of the CHARGESPOT power bank-sharing service, is working with Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) on the pilot. The trial uses a CHARGESPOT Navi20 power bank rental station equipped with mapxus Driven by Kawasaki™, KHI’s indoor location information service based on Mapxus technology.
The pilot began on July 10 and is scheduled to run through the end of December 2026. A single CHARGESPOT Navi20 unit is installed in the vestibule on the second floor of Zone B at Haneda Innovation City. The trial is intended for facility visitors as well as businesses interested in new indoor solutions.
According to INFORICH, this is the first CHARGESPOT sharing-service initiative in Japan using mapxus Driven by Kawasaki™, following an earlier deployment in Hong Kong.
Exploring new applications for indoor spatial technology
Navi20 combines CHARGESPOT’s power bank rental service with digital signage. For this pilot, mapxus Driven by Kawasaki™ is integrated with INFORICH’s hardware and services to support intuitive navigation in complex indoor environments.
This demonstration test is being conducted as part of the two companiesʼ examination of the introduction and application of technologies related to their business activities.
The pilot also explores CHARGESPOT’s potential to serve as next-generation infrastructure by combining power bank rental with new location-based services.
