Mapxus Powers Barrier-Free Navigation for National Games Venues in Macau with App-Free Solution

December 4, 2025

We’re proud to announce the successful rollout of the Mapxus Anywhere Web App (MAW) across seven major competition venues in Macau. This deployment is designed to support the upcoming 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, and the 9th National Special Olympic Games.

The initiative focuses on delivering a fully accessible and app-free navigation experience. Visitors can access high-precision indoor wayfinding instantly simply by scanning a QR code. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for downloads or complex registration processes.

Driving Inclusivity through Technology

Accessibility stands as the core pillar of this project. The digital map includes specific barrier-free routes tailored for wheelchair users, elderly guests, and cross-border travelers. This ensures that all spectators can navigate large and multi-floor competition venues with confidence and independence.

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has integrated this digital map directly into their official platform to ensure broad public access. Venue operators at major locations including Wynn and Galaxy have also responded enthusiastically to the ease of use provided by the scan-to-navigate feature.

Rapid Deployment and High-Precision Collaboration

The Mapxus team delivered this comprehensive solution across seven venues in just 2.5 months. This rapid deployment was made possible through close collaboration with Apple to achieve high-precision indoor positioning. Our team also worked swiftly to address input from the MGTO to refine both map content and functionality to meet the high standards required for national-level events.

Proven User Engagement

The solution has generated immediate impact since its launch. Data from the past month indicates strong user adoption and relies on the digital tool for effective wayfinding. Key metrics include:

  • High Engagement: Users have spent a total of 230 hours inside the Web App. This is equivalent to 28 full working days of digital wayfinding support.
  • Active Usage: The platform has recorded over 1,585 total sessions with an average session time of eight minutes.
  • Search and Discovery: Visitors have performed over 1,150 keyword searches and viewed venue details more than 3,000 times.

These figures demonstrate that the tool is effectively reducing pressure on venue staff while empowering visitors to explore the facilities effortlessly.
